ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 1. Install window ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
From the installation window you can install, upgrade and remove FTP Browser.
Select from the following list for a detailed description of the procedure:
Installing
Upgrading
Removing
The install directory specifies where FTP Browser will be installed.
The installation status window reveals whether the install procedure completed
successfully or failed.
Note: Make sure your system meets the system requirements before attempting
to install.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 2. System requirements ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Your system must meet the following minimal requirements in order to install
and use FTP Browser:
OS/2 Warp version 3 or 4
Presentation Manager
TCP/IP
2 Mb free disk space
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 3. Install ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Enter the directory name where you would like FTP Browser installed. To start
the installation procedure, select install. The application's files will be
copied to the directory you specified and a folder will be created that
contains the program and manual objects. After installation check the
installation status window for any errors.
To start FTP Browser simply open the folder that was created and click the
FTPBrowser object. Help may be obtained through the application's menu,
pressing F1 or clicking the Manual object in the folder.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 4. Upgrade ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Note: If you are planning to upgrade a release of FTP Browser prior to version
1.4, please refer to the upgrade considerations.
To upgrade FTP Browser simply press the install button. When the upgrade is
complete, check the installation status window for any errors.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 5. Upgrade considerations ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
It is not possible to upgrade any release of FTP Browser prior to version 1.4.
If you have a release prior to version 1.4 installed, it is recommended that
you save your FTP Browser objects before installation. Select store all objects
from any existing FTP Browser object's popup menu. This will store, to a file
located in your FTP Browser directory, all of your objects' settings.
Next you must remove FTP Browser with the previous version's install program.
Then you can install this version of FTP Browser.
Select the convert button from the installation window to convert your previous
FTP Browser objects to the new address book format.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 6. Remove ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Simply select the remove button when you are ready to remove the program.
Removing FTP Browser will delete the application files from your hard drive,
remove application profile entries from the system files and delete the
application's objects from your desktop.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 7. Install directory ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Specifies where the program and data files are to be stored. This directory
will be created if it does not currently exist. It must include a drive letter
and a fully qualified path name without the trailing slash. This directory can
not be the root directory of any drive.

ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 8. Installation status ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Displays informational messages to the user during an installation procedure.
Every line of text displayed reveals whether a specific install function
completed successfully or failed. This can assist the user in tracing
installation problems
